Technical Superintendent

To support our Operations Department with daily technical management, we are looking for a Technical Superintendent for a permanent position. You will be part of the Fleet Services & Development Team, based at head office in the Netherlands, and reports to the Manager Fleet Services & Development.

As a Technical Superintendent, you are ultimately responsible for training Chief Engineers to the highest industrial standards and ensuring that all means are in place to prevent downtime of technical equipment on assigned vessels.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • QHSSE Priority: Ensure that quality, health, safety, security, and the environment are top priorities.
  • Substitution: Act as a substitute during the absence of the Manager Fleet Services & Development. 
  • Technical Standards: Create, implement, and monitor technical standards, including training of technical crew members on board the vessels. 
  • Maintenance Strategy: Responsible for the maintenance and repair strategy. 
  • Spare Part Strategy: Responsible for the critical spare parts strategy. 
  • Documentation Management: Responsible for the standards for managing the technical documentation. 
  • Guarantee Claims: Monitor guarantee claims of new build vessels. 
  • Maintenance Specialist: Specialized in planned (docking, modifications) and unplanned maintenance. 
  • New Fuels: Specialist in BESS and new fuels such as Methanol. 
  • Minimize Downtime: Go-to person for vessel staff and Vessel Superintendents to minimize downtime. 
  • Stakeholder Management: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding services delivered by suppliers.

 

Job Requirements

  • Education: Engineering/Marine degree or related courses. 
  • Experience: Preferably experience as a chief engineer on offshore DP vessels. 
  • Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of diesel engines, electrics, and hydraulics. 
  • Maintenance: Experience with implementing and maintaining PMS. 
  • Basic Knowledge: ISM/ISPS/MLC. 
  • Cultural Diversity: Experience working with diverse cultures.
