Acta Marine seeks a dedicated and proactive QHSSE Coordinator to support our UK operations in achieving and maintaining the highest standards in Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (QHSSE) management. You’ll be instrumental in implementing and upholding QHSSE standards across our UK organization, supporting our commitment to safe, efficient, and sustainable maritime operations.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining QHSSE management procedures and policies, ensuring timely alignment with legislative changes and company standards.
- Conduct internal audits and inspections both in the office and onboard vessels.
- Participate in risk assessments (e.g., HAZIDs) and incident investigations, assisting in corrective action planning.
- Prepare QHSSE reports and presentations.
- Work with various departments to foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Provide operational QHSSE support to departments, vessels, and projects.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in QHSSE. Promote a strong safety culture ashore and onboard, emphasizing compliance with company procedures.
- Coordinate and support accurate HSE reporting from designated vessels.
- Coordinate and deliver safety induction and QHSSE training for staff and crew.
- Prepare and manage the office emergency plan, including readiness, training, and drills.
- Serve as (Deputy) CSO (Company Security Officer) and (Deputy) DPA (Designated Person Ashore).
Qualifications & Experiences
- Degree in Health, Safety, and Environmental Management (e.g., NEBOSH qualification), Engineering, Marine, Maritime studies, or a related field.
- If applicable, willingness to obtain, Health, Safety and Environmental management qualification.
- Experience working on a seagoing vessel (including apprentice period) is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of HSE laws, regulations, and standards, along with Management Systems, Incident Investigation, Auditing Techniques, and Risk Management. Familiarity with ISM, ISPS, MLC, and other relevant maritime standards and codes.
- Proficiency in QHSSE principles and practices.
- Fluent in English, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

About the job
Acta Marine UK limited will be supporting our Service Operating Vessels (SOV’s) operating from Grimsby. The vessels will be providing walk-to-work services under a long-term contract with UK based leading utility company active in the renewables market.
As QHSSE coordinator, you will be part of Acta Marine QHSSE team and report organizationally to the Vessel Superintendent of Acta Marine UK and hierarchal to the QHSSE manager of Acta Marine France.
