Senior Crewing Coordinator
Are you an experienced crewing professional ready to take the next step in your career? At Acta Marine, we are looking for a motivated Senior Crewing Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in our daily crewing operations.
As a Senior Crewing Coordinator, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the crew on board our vessels, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and smooth, cost-effective operations. You will coordinate and supervise daily activities, maintain communication with stakeholders, and manage strategic planning for crew management.
In this role, you will supervise crew coordinators and step in as the Crewing Manager when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily crew rotations, including travel and visa arrangements and all required documentation.
- Verify crew certificates, qualifications, and training requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for vessels, agencies, seafarers, and Vessel Superintendents.
- Monitor crewing budgets and improve cost effective operations.
- Develop and execute crisis and contingency plans for crewing situations.
- Monitor crew performance and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.
- Act as hiring manager for crewing recruitment, supporting the Maritime Recruiter in the selection process, while collaborating with the Crewing Manager on final decisions.
- Support and guide Crewing Coordinators and serve as the replacement Crewing Manager in their absence.
Job Requirements
- Education: HBO diploma required; a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Human Resource Management, Maritime Management, or Business Administration is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the maritime sector. Experience with crewing on offshore vessels is a plus.
- Knowledge: Solid knowledge of maritime legislation, including STCW, MLC, SOLAS, and Flag State Authority regulations. Familiarity with offshore safety practices and global visa requirements.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with Crew Management Systems is advantageous.
