QHSSE Coordinator
This role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with limited experience and eager to develop their skills and knowledge in QHSSE management. As a QHSSE Coordinator, you will support the organization in implementing and maintaining QHSSE standards, enhancing our performance, and adapting to our evolving business landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of QHSSE system procedures and policies, ensuring timely updates in line with legislative changes and company directives.
- Conduct internal audits and inspections in the office and onboard our vessels.
- Participate in risk assessments (such as HAZIDs) and incident investigations, assisting in the development of corrective actions.
- Assist in preparing QHSSE reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with other departments to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Provide support to departments on QHSSE-related subjects (internal and charters/projects).
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to QHSSE.
- Promote a strong safety culture ashore and onboard, emphasizing compliance with company procedures.
- Support and coordinate the delivery of accurate HSE reporting from assigned vessels.
- Prepare QHSSE documentation for new tenders.
- Support the coordination and delivery of safety induction and QHSSE training for staff and crew.
- Assist in the preparation and management of the BHV plan, including availability, training, and exercises.
- Support the new build team with document administration and certification.
Qualifications & Experiences
- A bachelor’s degree in health and safety management (IVK, MKV, HVK), Environmental Science, Engineering, Maritime study, or equivalent related field.
- If applicable, willingness to obtain, Health and Safety management qualification.
- If applicable, willingness to obtain, Health and Safety management qualification.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic operational environment.
- Knowledge of relevant QHSSE regulations and standards, Management Systems, Incident Investigation, Auditing Techniques, and Risk Management.
- Familiarity with ISM, ISPS, MLC, and other relevant nautical standards and codes.
- Basic understanding of QHSSE principles and practices.
- Fluency in both Dutch and English.
- Good communication skills, people-oriented, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
