Acta Marine sells subsidiary Van Laar
As per September 18th 2009, Acta Marine have sold their subsidiary Van Laar Scheepvaart to Swets ODV Group.
Van Laar owns and operates 11 workboats that are exclusively being deployed on the inland waterways in the Netherlands, providing services at infrastructure projects and performing patrol activities. All activities, co-workers and the 11 workboats are included in the transaction.
Govert Jan van Oord, managing director of Acta Marine comments: “The sale of the inland water services and vessels operated by Van Laar allows Acta Marine to focus fully on our core activities: owners and operators of workboats for (shallow) coastal waters. This transaction also simplifies our management structure. The recent integration of our operating companies Van Stee and Waterweg should also be seen in this perspective. The revenues of the Van Laar transaction will be used for further strengthening and growth of Acta Marine’s core activities”.
SwetsODV is a reputable nautical service company, based in Zwijndrecht, the Netherlands. The company supplies inland shipping crew and staff on the European inland waterways, as well as operational staff for bridges and locks, traffic operators, and ferry skippers in the Netherlands.
