Vessels on the move

21 February 2019

Acta Marine works on projects all over the world. This means that vessel mobilisation is a crucial part of the company’s operations. It’s a question of getting the right assets in the right place at the right time.

For the smaller vessels in the fleet, the most effective way of transport from continent to continent is to be transported on a heavy lift vessel. Last week saw two of Acta Marine’s shallow draft vessels on the move between jobs.

The first is Offshore Performer, a 15-metre Crew Transfer and Survey Vessel that had finished her duties on a large dredging and construction project in the Mediterranean. On returning to her home base in Den Helder, the Netherlands, she is currently being prepared for her next assignment in North West Europe. With her capacity for twelve passengers and ability to execute survey tasks too, Offshore Performer will certainly be a key player in the project.

The second vessel is Coastal Boxer, a 22-metre Multicat. Looking at the main specs – a 50-tonne winch, a 140-tonne crane and a minimum draught of 1.9 metres – the best way to describe her is a shallow-water workhorse. Indeed, Coastal Boxer’s CV is a great example of solid marine support for dredging and construction projects. She was loaded onto a heavy lift vessel last week to be shipped towards the Middle East for a new contract, where she will support the expansion of an existing port in ultra-shallow waters.

It came to our attention that fraudsters are contacting individuals, posing as employees of Acta Marine, offering various attractive vacancies in the marine industry.
