Acta Marine‘s Coastal Explorer provides shallow draft solutions
Coastal Explorer has been awarded a long-term contract with the local port authority of the island of Neuwerk situated in the German Wadden Sea.
The vessel will be mobilised to provide logistical and nautical support.
A shallow water specialist, Coastal Explorer is a Multipurpose Workboat & Survey Vessel with a draft of just 90 centimetres. This will make her ideally suited to duties in the shallow waters surrounding Neuwerk (which actually fall dry every low tide). In preparation for the project, Acta Marine has reflagged the 25-metre long Multipurpose Workboat & Survey Vessel with a German Flag.
Neuwerk is situated 13 km northwest of Cuxhaven. With an area of just 3 km², the island is home to less than 40 inhabitants.
