Nomination Workboat Safety Forum

24 September 2015

The Workboat Safety Forum, established by the National Workboat Association (NWA), has been shortlisted for the prestigious RenewableUK Breakthrough Award.

This award will be presented to the winner on the 7th of October at the RenewableUK Gala Dinner at Liverpool.

After recognizing the need for better cooperation on workboat safety matters in 2014, the Safety Forum has gained active membership. The Forum was the first to report on workboat safety statistics, raising awareness for the importance of communications about safety issues. The progress and hard work of the NWA Workboat Safety Forum has been noticed by the UK’s leading trade organization for renewable energy industries: RenewableUK.

In reaction to the nomination, Philip Woodcock – Chairman of the NWA Workboat Safety Forum and Operational Director of Acta Marine Wind Services – states: “I am incredibly proud that the hard work put in by the members is being recognized by RenewableUK. Good safety is not only good for business; it is our primary focus in the NWA to improve safety throughout the industry to ensure that our members’ employees are able to work safely.”

It came to our attention that fraudsters are contacting individuals, posing as employees of Acta Marine, offering various attractive vacancies in the marine industry. They extort personal data and attempt to scam by asking for money before applying to the vacancy. Acta Marine and their third-party manning agents will never ask you to transfer money to apply to one of our vacancies. Please be vigilant and do not share your personal information or transfer any money. If you receive such a message, contact us immediately via info@actamarine.com.
